Mayors' Tales

Salford has been a city since 1270, but it has never elected its own Mayor - not until 2012. The referendum has been won, and the election will go ahead in May. Melia, reluctantly, is dragged into the fracas by a sense of loyalty to her Uncle Mart, who helped with the original campaign, and now, it seems, is even prepared to be a candidate. Plus, helping her cousin Liv, who married a man from Poland, who then disappeared. He may, apparently, have already had a wife. How is anyone to know?
In the few frantic months before the election, everything is up for grabs. Melia wants to stay out of trouble, but she can't avoid the man with a gun, and the over-excited property developer. Just a few of the loonies who come out of the woodwork, drawn like moths to the flame as Salford elects his first Mayor and decides its own future. Probably.
