Purpose: Audio-Digest Foundation CME/CE activities are designed to provide its learners – physicians and other healthcare professionals – with continuing education that will help identify clinical problems in their practice settings, provide content to help to solve those problems, and increase their application of knowledge to practice.
Audio-Digest Ophthalmology is specifically designed to provide the participant with up-to-date and accurate information on diagnosis and management in the major subspecialty areas of practice, including, but not limited to:
Allergy Cataract surgery and intraocular lenses Corneal and external disease Extraocular-muscle dysfunction Glaucoma Neuro-ophthalmology Orbital disease Ocular oncology Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus Refractive surgery Retinal and macular disease Systemic and autoimmune disorders
Educational Objectives The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of neuro-ophthalmologic disorders. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Use physical examination, pharmacologic testing, and imaging to differentiate between normal anisocoria and Horner syndrome. 2. Diagnose and manage optic neuritis due to multiple sclerosis, Devic disease, and other causes. 3. Recognize ocular manifestations of Lyme disease. 4. Diagnose idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) on the basis of symptoms and imaging. 5. Select appropriate medical or surgical interventions for patients with IIH.
