Description

These are actual true events that I have been in or part of on active duty in the United States Coast Guard. A major confrontation between the U.S. Coast Guard and three Russian ships occured in the middle of the night at the entrance of New York Harbor. The Russians were discovered trying to sneak past the C.G. ship and refused to stop. Another C.G. Cutter that had been following the Russians appeared and chased the large tanker that had canvas covering large hidden guns. Staten Island C.G. Base and Pier 9 sent a number of boats armed with mounted machine guns into the harbor. As we tried to board them they rolled back the canvas revealing the guns were now pointed directly at us.The U.S. Navy ordered, "ALL U.S. NAVAL VESSELS, GO TO GENERAL QUARTERS, BATTLE STATIONS, THIS IS NOT A DRILL".  A Coast Guard Electronic Tech. is hijacked aboard a U.S.C.G. Cutter bound for Ice Station Able in the North Atlantic. The Commanding Officer of a Loran Station north of Hawaii barricades himself in the armory to protect himself from the crew. A large group of men from a gay bar chase a Coast Guard sailor past the main gate and into the Station in New York City. When the Brittish fleet was in port my buddies had a Brittish sailor tattooed so he would never put the U.S. down again.
