I kcompiling this hand-book my main object was to put before the public in the simplest and clearest manner, the way in which the chief strokes of this fascinating game can be performed. No literary merit is claimed, but it is hoped that this little work will introduce a great deal of new interest into a game which is sure to stay, for as an indoor game it has not a rival. Everything has been explained with great detail for the benefit of those who live far from the great towns and have not the opportunity of personally gaining knowledge of the game.
