Atlas of Operative Gynaecology (Classic Reprint)

The author has attempted the graphic method of describing operations for conditions peculiar to women, by a series of colored illustrations showing the separate steps of each operative procedure. These illustrations have been made, after repeated observation of the operations as they were performed, by the artist, Mrs. J. D. Z. Chase. This method enables even the student without previous operative experience to comprehend modern operative technic. The text has been subordinated to the illustrations, saving the readers time and lightening the burden of obtaining a grasp of the subject. The work has been confined strictly to conditions peculiar to women, leaving the operations common to both sexes to the general surgeon, who is more competent to deal with them. The views expressed and the operative technic advocated are based on many years experience in dealing with all the conditions peculiar to women an experience which the author believes is necessarj to a correct judgment in selecting the operation best suited to a womans subsequent life history.
