Two Jews Blues

Michael Bloomfield and Barry Goldberg, a pair of white, middle-class Jewish kids born in Chicago during World War II, are raised in a city where a special and influential cultural phenomenon had taken hold: Electric Blues. Discovering the music initially on late night radio, Bloomfield, a guitarist who came from a wealthy family and Goldberg, a piano player who did not, become friends in high school and bond over their mutual love for The Blues, venturing into Chicago's all-black neighborhoods so that they can enter the nightclubs where Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and their other Blues heroes would often play live. Both playing music professionally by the mid-1960s, Bloomfield and Goldberg eventually find work and success beyond Chicago, their path and destiny crossing with many of the decade's best and most powerful musicians: Janis Joplin, Paul Butterfield, Buddy Miles, Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Jimi Hendrix, and especially Bob Dylan.
Two Jews Blues, based on Goldberg's memories of those times and related from his point of view, is a true story of friendship told with humor, nostalgia, frankness, and fond recollections of a long-lost friend.
