Description
In the present edition the same general plan has been adhered to as in the first, but the text has been carefully revised and much additional matter incorporated, so that it is believed the book will continue to be found reliable for the purpose for which it was originally intended, an outline guide to the study of embryology. Several new illustrations have been added and some of the old cuts have been replaced by better. Particular attention has been given to the chapter on practical work, and the best and latest methods for laboratory instruction will be found in that section. I am indebted to several friends for helpful suggestions and kindly criticism, and my thanks are particularly due to Mr. William C. Thro, Instructor in Histology and Embryology, Cornell University, who has given me valuable assistance in the preparation of the present edition. W. P. M.
