Description
2,345 words. APA Format with Title Page (Running Head, page headers etc.), and in text citations. This research paper covers the topic of Euthanasia also known as physician assisted suicide or mercy killings. It includes a fully formatted reference page.

Short Excerpt: Euthanasia began as simply meaning “good death” (Manning, 1998). As time progressed, the meaning was updated to mean, an anxiety and pain free death which is often brought on by the administration of medication (Manning, 1998). Now, the most recent definition of euthanasia is directly coined to mean, “mercy killing”, or willfully and intentionally ending someone’s life, in an effort to spare them from suffering (Manning, 1998). Since its introduction in the 17th century, euthanasia has been a constant topic of debate. The debate however, is not just black and white. Within it are the concerns not only of the legality of euthanasia, but also the humanity of it. Should assisting someone with ending their life be considered illegal, immoral? Does the use of euthanasia go against our inbred moral principles and the values on which this country was founded? Additionally, does support of euthanasia by doctor’s equal a violation of the Hippocratic oath?
