The gratification and interest with which our edition of the Discourses before Mixkd CONGREGATIONS, by the illustrious Anglican convert, was received by the Catholic community of New York, is our sufficient warrant for presenting this 6econd volume, containing a learned review of the Oxford movement which ended in the conversion of so large a number of distinguished men, and giving in addition a most eloquent answer to various objections that are made to the Catholic Church by her enemies. We feel nothing farther as necessary for us to say than that the American Edition is a careful reproduction of the London publication under the direction of the distinguished author.
