In this edition, the scope of the book has been somewhat extended. It does not deal solely with Pleadings; it now includes an outline of the procedure in an ordinary action in the Queen s Bench Division. The reader must understand, however, that what he will find here is but elementary; for anything unusual or exceptional he must still have recourse to Chitty s Archbold or the Annual Practice. Five new chapters have been added; one dealing with Parties, Joinder of Causes of A ction, and Jurisdiction; the other four relate to Trial, A ppeals, Execution, and Costs. The following matters are also dealt with specially in this edition: Account Stated, Settled A ccount, Action on a Bond, Declaration of Right or Title, Replevin, and Discovery of Documents. An Appendix containing 120 Precedents has been also added.
