Description
The following brief reminiscence of Arnold Toynbee, which does not pretend to be even a summary of his life, was written as an address to the members of Toynbee Hall, and delivered at that place on the 27th November last. It was not my original intention to publish this address. The most ambitious course which I, in the first instance, ever contemplated, was to print it for private circulation among Toynbee sfriends.
