THE DEVIL'S BELCH

Life in tropical Sinkara, a small colonial town on the southern coast of Sumatra was like living in paradise. A young fisherman and the beautiful daughter of the town's richest man come together against this idyllic backdrop, which becomes shattered when robbery, murder and the approaching volcanic disaster, play a part in affecting, not only in their lives, but also everyone else who lives in the surrounding area. The story takes you back to the heady days just before the eruption, to a time where colonial life in the tropics was like living in a paradise, where the last thing on peoples minds, was that somewhere out at sea lay a volcano, that waited for the devil to belch.
