AROUND THE NEXT BEND

Travelling where few have ever been, meeting many peoples rarely if ever visited by Caucasians this husband and wife team take their sailing boat into the Macareo River on the North East corner of South America. A month later, they turn towards the ocean down the mighty Orinoco River. Immediately before the Orinoco meets the ocean, they enter the Barima River leaving Venezuela for Guyana giving access to a host of Guyanese rain jungle rivers exploring as far upstream as 500 km. Their greatest pleasure, after studying the prolific birdlife, is encountering the Indians. From these ‘primitive’ Indians, come enthralling anecdotes on their beliefs, hunting methods and culture.
