the Wizard: studdy and you might become one

short story, fiction, Young Steven is called Tiny by his peers. At home in the small cottage where he lives with his parents, Steven is drawn to magic. When he turn twenty-one years old, he is visited with an old uncle that introduces Steven to the magic. Later when Steven helps the police to capture three men that with a gun stole narcotics from a pharmacists. The bad guys escapes, but with Stevens magical powers they are recaptured. To test his new found ability, Steven conjures up a fire breathing dragon.
