The author has a PhD in Life Experience of abuse and controlling relationships. When her first book was published: 'A Crying Game: the diary of a battered wife' in 1984 as Janine Turner, she received hundreds of letters in response and addressed that need by founding LIFELINE, working with families in abuse. She went on to become an Abuse Consultant, specialising in child sexual abuse.

Today, finally, she is in a loving stable relationship and is truly living the dream.
