Description
Wonders? Wonders !!
One Korean young man whose name called Psy posted his Korean MTV with the easy rap song and simple dances. In about 3 months, more than 300 Million viewers watched 'Gangnam Style' and copied his 'Horse Riding Dances'. However, without understanding of the meaning of song, how can they love Psy and his song?
"Oppan, Gangnam Style" means 'My good boy friend, you are in Gangnam Style !' Is that a good compliment? May be !! Oppan is oppa plus subjective prfix, Gangnam is the most advanced Southern Seoul town, just before Northern Seoul town, Myeongdong of the past.
The reason why I am explaining his songs is to give better understanding of ‘Gangnam Style’
for worldwide fans of Psy, and to introduce you Korean language as good tool for songs and rhyme, colors, sound, gestures, because subtle difference of one consonant or vowel give the much meaning of the emotions. For example, ‘ultungbultung’ does not use as right word for thought, but it can be used for muscle. But this ‘ultungbultung’ has stronger meaning than
‘oltongboltong’, both of which means ‘rough, uneven, not-smooth.’ Korean language is very unique using character meanings or character as sound signals, that is why Korean letter is good for digital environments.
You can learn with this Gangnam Style Korean some basic Korean, but I have three more books for Korean, Grammar, Pronunciation, suffix and prefix, with using suffixes you can make subject or object, or compliment with one word. You do not need to learn grammar heavily, learn basic rules for changing the function of words by using suffixes.
Digital is the worldwide trend for next decades. Whether you are living, more digital contents will be supplied from Korea, but if you do not know Korean language, how can you update yourself?
