Biology of Plants, Fourth Edition
Description
In this fourth edition, BIOLOGY OF PLANTS remains true to its original goals: to present the basic information about plants in solid, well-illustrated, and interesting way. As in previous editions, we pay special attention to what we think of as the book's interlocking themes: (1) the plant body as the dynamic result of the processes of growth and development mediated by chemical interactions: (2) evolutionary relationships as the guide to understanding form and function in organisms; and (3) ecology as a way of emphasizing our dependence on plants to sustain our lives and those of all other living organisms.
