Due to various factors, such as lack of sufficient collateral, informational asymmetry, low social credit level and so on, SMEs have great difficulties in obtaining loans from banks at present. Banks are often reluctant to lend to SMEs although they are under high pressure to seek new clients for their surplus funds. This book is intended to analyze the various obstacles that impede banks from lending to SMEs, and the importance to increase loans to SMEs by banks, and to explore the possible active measures that can be taken by commercial banks, SMEs and government to promote loans to SMEs.
