Description
Ancient Egyptian medicine was a mixture of religious and magical spells which physicians administered to overcome evil influences, believing that malignant forces attacked the human body causing physical and mental disorders. As long as four and a half thousand years ago there was already a class of professional doctors and surgeons who administered amazingly revolutionary procedures to cure sickness and disease and this is a fictional account of such a physician whom I have called Meketre and who lived during the reign Thuthmose IV in the New Kingdom, in about 1400 BC.
