The League of Twelve (Annals of Ravuna Book 1)

The Empire of Inlao has been ruled by the Lord Eternal for over three centuries. His absolute power had never been questioned until a young man with a gift for persuasion ignited a revolt. The League of Twelve, as it came to be called, combined the talents of some of Inlao's most impressive individuals behind a single purpose; to kill the Lord Eternal. The movement met with initial success but foundered after the bloody Four Days Battle. The war had only lasted a few years, but Serro is no longer a young man. His army is in tatters, and few members of his League remain. Serro attempts a daring strike at the Lord Eternal in the midst of his throne room. The attack fails. Death seems imminent.
