Description
This little gem is a goldmine of street tested information about how to influence any social encounter with the principles of street hypnosis.
Although there is no magic spell that will get you out of a traffic infraction, and using overt manipulation techniques will likely lead to an unfavorable outcome, there are still a few things one can do in the realm of influence that, if done with finesse and suitability, can and has helped to bend the outcome to your favor.
Here is a snippet from the booklet -
"Hypnosis and the traffic stop
When we think of hypnosis, many people imagine some strange person with special powers on a casino stage, making people do strange behaviors -- or, they may think of the hypnotherapist that can relax a client into a state of suggestion in a clinical setting. While these are valid models for hypnosis, there is much more to it than that:
Informally speaking, hypnosis or trance might be described as a state of consciousness that naturally occurs each day in any given person, yet we hardly ever notice. Hypnotists and hypnotherapists may utilize this state for therapeutic or entertainment purposes, but the principles of hypnosis are still at work at large on the streets and sidewalks, pubs or churches.
Here are three principles of hypnosis as applied in a traffic stop:
Fixation of attention:
Both yourself and the officer have a fixation of attention upon one another, and this is the first principle of hypnosis that all else must follow.
Rapport:
Rapport does not necessarily mean “liking each otherâ€, since professional boxers can be in deep rapport in the middle of a match. Generally, it means that you have a strong connection for meaningful communication.
Bypass of the critical faculty:
The auto-pilot “police trance†of the officer, as well as the stressful, adrenaline-charged state of the captured, create windows of opportunity to subtlety bypass conscious awareness and have an influence (however slight) on the unconscious mind.."
