Now more than ever, America's grandparents are taking an ever increasing role in the upbringing of their grandchildren. I was the son of a single-mother who fortunately for us had an amazing set of parents who were of course my grandparents.
This book is about my Grandfather Earl Crampton. A former Marine, proud American and exceptionally funny man who taught me many life-lessons without really trying.
Born in Bay City, Michigan in 1915, Crampton would proudly call the city home his entire life. He went to school there, raised his family there and taught a grandson more than you could ever imagine. This is a story about my recollections of him and why grandparents are so important to so many people today in the 21st century and beyond.
