The electron has a mass =9.1 * 10-31Kg. The last studies are indicating the electron as subatomic particle with negative electric charge. Having mass brings us to the conclusion that the electron is matter so substance. To make it easy consider that into the composition of any materials there are molecules. In the composition of molecules there are atoms and the atoms will have nucleus and electrons gravitating around nucleus.But since the definition of the electrical current is a controlled flow of electrons inside of an electrical field, we should know what electrical field is and what this is it. We are talking about electrons as negative electrical charges and we should know how such elementary material part is interacting with other charges. It is important also because we need to understand what the electric field is. Since the electrical current involve electrical charges in motion and the electrical field is the “environment “of such “event “we should well know the way electric charges interact and creates the electric field.This will help you understand how the electricity is generated.
