The Wanderer

Joseph Botadeo is having his portrait painted and tells a tale of a life that began four years before the birth of Jesus and crossed paths with him and many other people and events in the subsequent 2000 years such as the Crusades and a stint as advisor to Napoleon in Palestine.

Could all this be true somehow? Adam Gordon is taking it all in and has a Brazilian girlfriend who seems to know more than she should about this story. And then there is that painting by Rembrandt--
