Description
In short, this book is how I traded $100,000 over a 12-month period using options. It s is a collection of every trade I made in 2012 in my taxable account. I made more than 100 individual stock and ETF option trades (naked puts, covered calls, put spreads, call spreads and some other option combinations) in addition to a handful of option assignments. At the beginning of each year, I transfer gains to another account so I start with $100,000 in this actively traded account. I didn t add or subtract any money aside from this opening adjustment.
Not to spoil the ending, but I can tell you in advance, I made a realized gain every month in 2012. I did this by using options to reduce my risk and increase my profit potential. Like every (honest) trader, I made mistakes and had realized losses. However, I didn t get stuck on those mistakes. I learned and moved on. I hope that by reading this book, readers will be able to learn from my mistakes and properly executed trades to increase their rate of success each month, year in and year out.
This isn t the type of book that will create a fantasy world of how easy it is to get rich quickly with little risk. I m not writing to promote another business you have to buy into. Rather than explain how options work in theory, this book explains how to sell naked puts and covered calls by showing actual trade details and my reasoning for each trade decision. Managing risks, keeping a trader s journal and learning from mistakes will help investors minimize losses and improve returns in the long term. This is my method for achieving my investment goals.
