Thyroid Cancer
• Papillary Carcinoma – most common, excellent prognosis.
o S/S – painless anterior neck mass; firm mass with ill-defined borders (may be multifocal and commonly with fibrosis/calcification)
o Dx – “Ground-glass†nuclei (Orphan Annie), Psammoma bodies (which can also be seen in Prolactinomas)… Also shows arborizing papillary structure, cellular stratification/atypia.
