A harmless elderly man has been shot twice in the head and his body left in the local hospital mortuary. Who was he? Why was he killed? How did the killer smuggle him in? To the media it's the "Body in the Morgue" case but to Detective Melanie Stockman and her team it's a complex and baffling mystery with its beginnings in a war fought half a century earlier in Korea. To complicate things Mel has to deal with the mad exploits of one of the country's dumbest criminals, as well as the attentions of a new man in her life.

But as the investigation reaches its shattering conclusion Mel and her team find the victim may not be the innocent old man they've been led to believe.

Set in modern-day New Zealand "Remembrance" features Melanie Stockman - police officer and single mother to teenage sons - as she balances the conflicting demands of the case, her son, and her attraction to a divorced pathologist. Remembrance has been well researched with realistic characters, and a believable plot which includes some true events that are not widely known.
