A GLIMPSE OF FREEDOM: An American Tale of Love and War

Union Cavalry Scout (JESSE) and a runaway slave (CYRUS) form an unbreakable friendship in an effort to get through the bloody Civil War. The two men endure unspeakable hardship, prison camp, and torture. As war drags on both men find themselves in desperate situations, barely alive and longing for freedom. Jesse, just wants the war to be over to get back to his young wife in Tennessee. Cyrus, wants to secure his freedom and live as a free man, but in this war, like all wars, both soon realize the price for freedom is great....and is paid in blood.
SARAH ELLIS knows she has it better than most young war brides, her husband Jesse is stationed close to home, for now, after she almost lost him at the battle of Shiloh. His occasional trips home make the war bearable in her eyes. She views the war as a major inconvenience to her plans for a happy life with her new husband. While many believe the sinking of the Titanic was the worst Maritime disaster in U.S history. It wasn't. On the night of April 27th 1865 the steamship SULTANA exploded on the Mississippi River with nearly 2000 war-weary Union soldiers aboard. Most had just been released from Cahaba and Andersonville P.O.W. camps. The majority of these men never made it home.
