Description

Get off the couch. Start moving. Keep it up for long enough to show real results.

Our health is such a vital foundation stone that stubbornly muddling through and ignoring the advice of people who know better is just plain stupid.

However, none of us has all the answers.

Anyone who tries tell you their book contains 'The One Key to Health, Serenity and Rock Hard Abs' is lying to you.

That's why, in this book, you don't get one 'guru' or 'expert' pointing their finger at you making you feel hopeless. You meet a whole range of real people on the same health and fitness journey you are, willing to offer the benefit of their hindsight.

There are shortcuts.

So often in the areas of health, fitness and well-being, we pick up an effective skill, learn a valuable lesson or discover some indispensable technique and then think: 'Wow! If only I'd known about this earlier I would have done things very differently.'

Now you can get hold of this wisdom without the bruises, sprains and embarrassment that often accompany the lesson. (Anyone else been spat off the back of a running machine?)

Thanks to the generosity of all the people in this book, you can access a huge store of this extraordinary wisdom in one place, from people who have the experience to back it up.

Powerful tips on mindset, diet and motivation.

So, in this book, you'll hear from nutritionists and those with food allergies on the importance of diet, personal trainers giving insights on how to tailor your program and push yourself further, and people who've lost loads of weight on how to shed the kilos and boost your self-esteem. There's advice from people who have been exercising all their lives and tips from one woman who started only a few weeks ago.

Yeah, so what? Why is it different to other collections of exercise advice?

I’m glad you asked – you cheeky thing. Because I know that most of us (yes, even me sometimes) can get a bit defensive and obnoxious when someone is telling us how to live our lives I provide the three or four tablespoons of sugar to help the medicine go down. Once I’ve got all the incredible bits of advice from each person, I put down their incredible answers next to a (slightly) nerdy photo of each person in their younger days – complete with paisley flares, shoulder pads and gorgeous mullet hairdos – just so all this wisdom stays approachable and doesn’t take itself too seriously. The result is a book full of fantastic advice that stays fun to read and never gets too holier than thou.

My favorite review of these books is “They’re self-help for the rest of us, they’re stealth self-help. They’re life advice you can read on the train without everyone thinking you’re broken.”

This book is like having a team of personal trainers.

Whatever type of training you're into, whatever stage you’re at with health and fitness, this book is like having a team of personal trainers to remind you why you started, inspire you to keep going when it gets tough, and accelerate your progress to the next level.

This book helped me, so I know it will help you.

I got so inspired talking to all the people in this book that I ended up running my first half-marathon. Now running, exercise and a much healthier approach to diet and alcohol consumption is a permanent part of my life. And I'm a much better man for it - just ask my wife and kids. ;)
