THE CUBE

Ayush Patwardhan is a nerdy thirteen- year- old. With his nose buried in books, he is by his own admission, shy, lacking in social graces, and quite simply ordinary. The type to simply blend into the background. But falling sick with viral one fine day Ayush starts discovering things about himself he has never known. He begins to hear whispers. Then voices. Then he finds himself in someone else’s body. When he wakes from his sleep he thinks it’s a nightmare. A nightmare he prefers to forget. A nightmare perhaps linked to the curiously beautiful crystal cube he finds under his pillow. Only he can’t figure out how it got there. When he does he has only one objective. To return it to the rightful owner. Things turn complicated when the blind man who planted the cube in his bag dies in an accident. From there Ayush is plunged into a world he has only read about. A world of superheroes and incredible powers. A world where danger stalks him at every step. A world of Inheritors, Snatchers and Keepers. A world where he does not know the rules. He has to learn them as he goes on. Where every step might plunge him over the precipice.
With each revelation about himself Ayush’s perceptions undergo a drastic change. He has to learn that responsibility goes hand in hand with power. That taking decisions, making choices, being free has its upside as well as downside.
