Corbin wants to believe that his mother is finally coming to take him home after three years of being shoved off to live with his grandparents. But it’s just not soon enough for Corbin. He knows they cannot stand his mom, let alone her offspring. How much longer can Corbin tolerate all the abuse and torment from his grandparents? “Ouch! Why did you do that?”
“See Corbin, this is the entire problem, you never listen. It is this music, and your mother! Tell me this, what are you going to do when your mother messes up again, like she always does and the both of you end up on the streets? I will tell you what you will do; you will end up right back here!”
“Like hell I will, I would rather live under a bridge than to be here!”
“Watch your language boy, and trust me, with the way your mother lives her life, a bridge is like the Hilton! As for this music, well guess what? You are grounded for a month! No music, no internet, no cell phone, and the calls you have with your mother will be monitored and limited!”
“You can’t do that!”
“Oh yes I can, see as long as you are in my house, you will follow my rules!”
“Well, you have four months and three days as right now to torture me, so make sure you abuse it!”
His grandfather and grandmother left the room, and Corbin climbed on his bed. Now he was left alone with his thoughts, and in the state of mind he was in, it was not a good thing. His mind wandered into dark places, and a sinister smile was on his lips.
