Ember: Book One of the Empire of Vaelatrum Trilogy

The book takes place in a world of fantasy filled with warring races of man, dwarves, abominations, half man/half deer creatures known as Sara'he and others. A state of war exists within the Empire between the oppressive government and any and all peoples who show the ability of using magic, no matter what kind.

The main character is a Naval Officer who uncovers a diabolical internal plot through his family that could lead to the entire Empire crumbling before the truth that it has hidden away for so long.

There are airships, steam weapons such as rifles, cannons, artillery, and tanks, swords and shields, spears along with fantastical magic, creating amazing engagements and battles throughout the story.

Sentient enemies are not the only danger that our heroes face, as magical creatures both good and evil roam the world of Vaelatrum as well.
