Cao Bang

This novel tells of the disastrous French retreat from Cao Bang, Vietnam, along the "Highway of Death." It introduces the reader to various characters of the 1st Foreign Legion Parachute Battalion who appear in later books. The book tells teh story from both sides of the conflict.
