Rangers of the Wilderness

Lost in the wilderness William and his friend Jacob stand alone against a large ogre who is intent on eating them. True, the two boys had some training as Rangers but they are only in their first year of school. As they fought William was having serious doubts as to why he even joined up to be a Ranger. He could be safe back at the orphanage where his ten year old sister Leora and he had been living just a few months before. Now, William and Jacob are fighting for their lives. Of course this won’t be the only time their lives are in danger. During their first year at Ranger school they encounter bandits, assassins, and even tangle woods.The boys also have the usual array of classes they must attend such as Math and English, but also Sword Fighting, and Survival Skills. Then there’s also the mystery of the missing student.
Rangers of the Wilderness focuses primarily on William, a 15 year old orphan who has been recruited into the illegal Ranger school in the medieval like country of Adalia. Years ago Rangers were outlawed as enemies of the country they were sworn to protect. The current government has all but killed them off. Now the surviving rangers have come together and have started a new Ranger school far in the wilderness, away from government interference. There, several boys have been recruited to replenish the ranks of the Rangers and keep watch over the country that is trying to wipe them out.
