Description
This is a short book which I wrote mainly as a cathartic exercise - to help me come to terms with what happened and how I am treated and expect to be treated within my marriage. It helped me work out what I found acceptable, understand why certain situations arose and help me decide whether I was going to put up with what happened. It is not an easy read because I have held nothing back. There are details and facts in this book which I have kept a personal secret from even my closest family and friends. I am not a victim. Anyone who knows me would say I am a strong woman who knows my own mind and won't put up with nonsense. Yet it happened. This is my true experience although I have used a pseudonym.
Domestic violence is something I thought happened to other people. But domestic abuse can happen within any marriage, at any time and especially in one where marital arguments are a way of life. I had been married for twenty years when an argument turned abusive. How many women have suffered marital abuse and assumed that is all they have to look forward to?
I wanted to stay married - but not at any expense so I figured out what my limits were if I did not want to get divorced, If you want to stay married, you need to fight to get your husband back and even train your husband to behave properly. Here's my story.
