Understanding Odu Ifa: Apola Oyeku

About this book: This is a compilation of over 100 verses of Odu Ifa encompassing the Odu's of Oyeku - from Oyeku Meji to Oyeku Ofun. Also included are short summaries that look into the esoteric meanings of the verses as well as a section of suggested Ebo (offerings) for each verse. Also information will be included for each Odu that will detail taboos and potential names directed by Ifa. This information will help Ifa diviners have the necessary information during rituals like dida Ifa (divination), esentaye (baby naming ceremony), and even itefa (Ifa initiation). About the author: Fagbemijo Amosun Fakayode was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. In January 2011, he journeyed alone to Ibadan, Nigeria where he was initiated into the priesthood of Ifa. He has since returned for several subsequent visits. He is the author of other books such as "All Days Are Sacred" and "Ori Mi Gbe Mi: Ori, Support Me". He is the director of Oyeku Ofun Temple, a traditional Ifa and Orisa temple in Arcata, CA. Fagbemijo Amosun Fakayode now resides in Northen California with his family.
