ANAIS: An International Journal, Volume 1

Inspired by the work of the controversial and innovative writer Anais Nin, Gunther Stuhlmann, Nin's longtime agent and editor, began collecting work by and about Nin from writers around the globe. This is the inaugural issue of his award-winning annual journal, which ran for an incredible 19 years before Stuhlmann's death in 2002.

Volume 1 contains a diary excerpt from Nin about her nascent marriage in the 1920s, letters to Nin from Antonin Artaud, an article by Nin's husband Hugh Guiler (Ian Hugo), memories of Nin by her cousin, an examination of Nin's diary writing, notes by Nin's interviewer, a checklist of Nin reviews and critical works, and fiction as well as poetry.
