Description
This ‘boutique’ dictionary is the last word in Beatle trivia, with amusing, tenuous connections, revelations and some unexpected twists on the age-old Beatle myth. It was a labour of love, clocking up 7 years of research ending up with 75 fab words defined and explored.
The aim of Expert Textpert is to examine the origin of Beatle words and their relevance today. The entries are divided into three categories:
Beatle Inventions are words or phrases invented by or for The Beatles (Crimble, grotty etc.).
Beatle Adaptations are established words or phrases that have had their meanings enhanced by The Beatles (Apple, Taxman etc.).
External Adaptations are established words or phrases given a new application by journalists, biographers, fans etc, (The Quiet One, Moptop etc.).
The detail supporting the editorial comments for each entry is taken from a wide range of Beatle books authored by their friends, fans, critics and academics as well The Beatles themselves.
