Being raised in a strict environment did not trouble Daniel much. However, being informed he was unable to choose his own life long mate did. He was told his mate was chosen for him. This mate was called his “gem”. Daniel being a half breed vampire and half shape shifter, understood there were pros and cons to being an ill-suen. He also knew it was crucial to accept his fate. His gem was his source of survival. If his gem was to die before finding her, he would die too. Before setting off for his journey to find his gem, Daniel decides to go out one last night. While at a club in downtown London, he becomes infatuated with a girl named Faith. This immense desire he felt for the girl begins to confuse him. Daniel thought he could control his lustful and morbid urges to drink human blood. But since coming in contact with Faith, he started doubting his restraint. Daniel wanted to kill the source that made him weak. He planned to suck the girl dry but was unable to accomplish his goal. The next day he found out Faith was his gem. Worried that he cannot control his desire for her blood, he soon realizes the desire to love and protect her are stronger. Daniel and Faith form a loving relationship and start their lives together. Their relationship eventually becomes strained when unexpected issues threaten to disunite them. Daniel persistently tries to lock away the demon inside that craves Faiths blood. And Faiths relentless need for sexual contact with Daniel adds pressure to him. Daniel continually rejects the proposal in fear of harming her. Will their love overcome these obstacles? Or will they both realize a human and an ill-suen have no place being together.
