Description
This is an electronic Esperanto-English dictionary that can be used with the Kindle, based off of the freely available ESPDIC.
-Configurable as the default Kindle dictionary for inline word lookup.
-Contains 41,331 entries and 374,127 conjugated forms, which come from a total of 14,690 base words. This corresponds to 99.6% of all words that appear in Esperanto texts on Project Gutenbeg (excluding proper nouns and foreign words) . This is the most comprehensive Esperanto-English dictionary for Kindle in the Amazon marketplace.
-Works with both hat letters ("?ati"), and with x notation ("sxati").
-Contains 14,605 example sentences, courtesy of the Tatoeba community.
Instructions to configure as the main Kindle dictionary (on a Paperwhite, will be similar for other products):
1) Purchase book.
2) Press the menu button.
3) Select "Settings".
4) Select "Device Options".
5) Select "Language and Dictionaries".
6) Select "Dictionaries".
7) Select "English".
8) Select "Pasporto Esperanta: An Esperanto-English Dictionary".
Note that the lookup will not work for books that are marked as languages other than English. This is due to a flaw in which Kindle does not properly support marking books as Esperanto. (Almost all Esperanto books available in Kindle format are digitally marked as English.)
What's new in the fourth edition:
Made minor changes to conjugated forms of words, with added support for elided terminal vowels, and fixed some spelling errors in the frontmatter.
