Description
An exploration of the expansion of the Japanese Empire into Alaska in the year 2041 and after. Alaska is no longer a state but has declared independence of the USA while remaining loosely tied militarily and economically to that nation. It's government is Libertarian.
This move away from the USA gives the Japanese under their Emperor a chance to grab the under exploited resources of the northern land. With a background of WW2 the experience of being invaded again is explained from the points of view of female and male soldiers and officers whose previous service (often with either the USA or Canadian Forces) will come in handy. The Japanese view is also brought out. All modern weapons are employed within reason including nuclear ones. The War is land/sea/air and is fought in the terrain of Alaska and in the surrounding waters and beneath them.
