10 Volumes with 324 Original Stereo Photographs
A remarkable set of original stereoscopic photographs depicting the progressive dissection of various regions of the human body. Each photograph is mounted to card stock and designed for viewing through a stereoscopic viewer (not included.) This New Revised Edition was produced in 1911 with 74 images more than the previous issue. It was the original teaching aid for medical students to familiarize themselves with human anatomy in advance of the increasingly expensive dissection of an actual body.
The set includes 324 original b&w silver gelatin stereoscopic photographs, each 6.25 x 3.5 inches with two images, mounted to a 7- x 9-inch card. The images are mounted at the bottom of each card with small numbers corresponding to the descriptions above the images. They are housed in 10 cloth-bound slipcases with mounted labels to the spine and a tray containing the images and title cards. A total of 335 cards, as issued.
