Description
SANREE the SORCERER attempts to thwart the rise of rightful-king, sixteen-year-old BARTO BAY to King of Pervecta. After a spell that he has set reaches near-fruition, Sanree launches the next phase. He attacks Barto's home village. Four are killed. Unaware of Sanree's plans and Barto's true identity, the villagers blame Barto, who is already an outcast, for the attack. He offers a compromise: he will go to find those responsible and his family will be left to live in peace. They agree.
Barto and his companion HORACE, a talking mule, embark to find the culprits, following the stars that lead the way. En route he meets a young girl of fourteen years named MILLEN, whom he has met in his dreams, and whom he learns is his future queen. Barto also learns that Sanree is his true nemesis. As they travel together, they suffer the effect of Sanree's powerful spell, debilitating in its strength. At one point Barto and Millen are separated.
Barto realizes that he most likely will find Sanree in Reservia, capital of Pervecta. Meanwhile, Sanree captures Millen and takes her to Reservia as a bargaining chip. Barto must navigate his way from his home village to Reservia to rescue Millen, fighting Sanree's soldiers all the way.
Barto finally reaches Reservia. He moves to the castle where Sanree holds Millen. Sanree stands between Barto and his throne and hurls a knife that hits Barto in the chest. He collapses onto the throne. Here, sitting in his rightful place, a force surges through his body. Sanree releases another knife but Barto stops it in mid-air with his new powers and sends it back towards the magician, piercing his third eye. Sanree dies.
Barto Bay and Millen fulfill their destinies as king and queen.
