After several life-threatening experiences he leaves the Doves and flies F.27 turboprops in the UK for a number of years. Finally he joins a UK jet operator, flying ad hoc charter work for his last three decades as a pilot, both around Europe and on longhaul widebody jets to many exotic parts of the world.
There are several brushes with death, and several more with history, in a long and varied flying career. You will meet ageing Nazis, lovelorn Americans, gun-toting bandits and many other characters, fly Boeings and Airbus, and have rare insights into life down route and behind the flight-deck door.
