The Coming of Age of America is a long poem about the state of America today in reflection of its Civil rights past and its general growing up as a Young Country. Because we are now in the 21st Century and the U.S. appears to be taking a less flamboyant role in the world and a more diplomatic one, it requires that the title reflects this as the Coming of Age of America as though it was a young man reaching the age of 21. Like Uncle Sam has now come of age.
This poem is part of a General series of Poems by the Author called Matters of Urgency to which only Part I has been published so far.
This poem is on early release because of the celebration of the great speech by Martin Luther King in 1963 of 50 years of Americas history. The poem has been released on its own to serve as a poignancy to the speech and celebrations made about Martin Luther and the Civil rights movements maturity over these years.
