9/11 PLAYS

I had just woken up to take care of my 11 month old son, Matthew, when I turned on the news to see the 2nd plane crash into the World Trade Center. I am a New Yorker and before moving to Los Angeles, I was working in the Wall Street area and each day I would walk past these magnificent buildings. I cried as a held my son, and watched helplessly as this tragedy unfolded before my eyes. The first play of this collection of 2 one-act plays, THE DAY THEY WOUNDED NEW YORK, came right from the obituaries of 11 of those that lost their life that day and from the terrorist handbook. The second, WELCOME BACK, is the coming home of a Veteran, Jim, who served in Iraq and is unable to live with what he did over there, and has come back to say, goodbye. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who were directly touched on Sept. 11th, 2001. May we never forget them.
