Excerpt:

Aristo, Stephan, and Thomas were on her like stars in a clear, night sky. Their hands felt around her belly and they would cheer with each movement from the baby. She was showered with kisses and admiration each time the baby moved. The tenderness and life filled her. There had always been a void because of the lack of love from her own family, but that void was now long gone. It had been replaced with hope and the prospect of a brighter future.
“That is amazing,” Stephan was nearly crying. His eyes were gleaming with wetness. He bit his bottom lip and clenched his jaw to keep from weeping, “It has been so long since a youngling has been with us. Tania,” he fell to his knees and kneeled deeply, “The gift you have given us will be treasured for eternity. You have enriched our lives. Thank you.”
Aristo and Thomas then kneeled before her and bowed their heads. Tania caressed their cheeks and nearly wept. The outpouring of emotion was difficult for her to comprehend but she understood one thing—this was her family.
“I promise I will be a Dragon Mother that you can be proud of.”
“We are already proud of you, Love,” Aristo said. Even his dark, stormy eyes were glistening with tears. Aristo wiped his eyes, “Look at us, standing around like a bunch of women. Yes, we are the mighty dragons who cry.” He laughed at that, “How pathetic will we be once the child is born?”
They all laughed, even Tania, “It warms my heart to know how much you care. I love you all so much.”
“And we love you,” Aristo said, “Now, let’s stop acting like ninnies and prepare for war. After all, we’re not taking a pleasure stroll through the woods for no reason. We need to man up.”
