Fake Psychic

Way up in the high numbers of the TV Guide, Pete Stivens contacts the dead in front of a live studio audience. Exploiting the most vulnerable and bereaved, he delivers messages from deceased friends and loved ones. However, this show carries a disclaimer - it’s for entertainment only. Pete’s a fake, a magician who turned his skills of psychology and showmanship to the lucrative psychic industry. His lies have made him wealthy and got him laid. Tonight, a dangerously disturbed audience volunteer is going to put Pete’s powers to the test. And if Pete really was psychic, he wouldn't be taking her to the usual sleazy hotel room. He'd run as far away from this one as he could.

This dark comedy examines the ethics of the fraudulent psychic performer and was written after extensive conversations with magicians, mentalists and psychic mediums. The author is a working magician and hypnotist which lends the events in the story real credibility.
