New World Order - Episode I

This is a 9000 word novella. It is the first episode of a 7 volume serie.

In 2015 our banking and financial system collapsed. What we thought large and in good health companies died in a matter of months. James McKinney is working at Galactic Finance Solutions. Thanks to Lorraine Greenback, their CEO, contracts with the government prevented them from crashing. Now it's time to find a way of funding the reelection of the actual president.

From the book

“Hi Cheyenne. What’s the matter?”
“James, are you listening to the radio? They have suspended all welfare and unemployment benefits. There have been reports that there is about to be a riot in the city. Just want you to keep safe.”

Two minutes from pulling into the staff parking at Galactic Finance Solutions and there was no sign of this so called riot situation. James was quite irritated.
“I am at work Cheyenne. Everything seems fine here. I can’t talk about this right now. Thanks.”

But Just as he approached the entrance to the parking garage, he saw a large crowd of people spill out from an adjacent street. They were moving at a run. Faces distorted in rage and pain. Most people wore tattered clothes and some bodies were dangerously slim. They were all armed. The mob was carrying everything from large stones, knives, farming tools, bats, placards and a few with pistols. A short woman was carrying a sign with the words “No to the NWO”.
