COAL MINER'S SON

The author is the son of a West Virginia Coal miner. He describes what life was like growing up with his 9 brothers and sisters on a farm from 1936 until serving in the Military in 1958. He shares experiences while attending Elementary School, moving from city life with running water to a farm with no running water or a bathroom. The stories told about his friends, brothers, and sisters are hilarious. Read about his grade school antics, the murder that happened on a cold winter day, the day he left his brother stranded on a snowy Cheat Moutain, the girl with the white bathing suit, and joining the Military's 10th Infranty Division. This is an excellent book for teenagers to read since it relates to a time when teenagers had no computer games, cellphones, or other modern amenities for entertainment as they have today.
